Georgia State Troopers hold ‘Community Day’
GSP accident

Georgia State Troopers from Post 11 in Hinesville offered a glimpse of a day in the life of a GSP Officer this past Saturday. Visitors who made the trek were shown how canine officers serve their partner. They also learned how the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) who investigate serious accidents, uses specialized tools to determine what may have caused a wreck. Among their newer tools are air drones used to photograph and analyze a crash scene from above.

And it wasn’t just a showcase for GSP.

Officers from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, local city officers and Liberty County Deputies were also on hand to talk about their respective departments.

The Liberty county SWAT team showed off their weapons and visitors were able to get a peek inside their vehicle. The County also held a K-9 demonstration.

While turnout was light, it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of law enforcement officers who were happy to explain how they go about policing.
