On Sunday Jan. 2, 2022 a Liberty County deputy was involved in a vehicle pursuit with a motorcycle in Hinesville which began on Sandy Run Drive on East Oglethorpe Highway shortly before 9 p.m.

According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Commander, Capt. Dennis Poulson Tyreik Wilson was observed weaving in and out of traffic. The deputy ran his tag which indicated Wilson  was driving with a suspended license, cancelled registration and no insurance.

The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop but Wilson fled while another motorcyclist stopped.

While traveling on Dorsey Road in Walthourville Wilson lost control of his bike while rounding a curve and went into a ditch wrecking his motorcycle. He was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. It was reported that Wilson was talking and alert. There was no damage to the patrol vehicle.
