High-Speed chase through three cities, two counties

A high-speed chase, which began when a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted a traffic stop in Hinesville, ended when the driver lost control of his vehicle and wrecked in Long County.

 According to Troopers, John Snipe and Raymondo Thompson, the chase began when a trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop at the intersection of Old Sunbury Road and East Oglethorpe Highway for speeding and failure to dim headlights around 1:30 a.m. Jan. 29.

 The driver, Dalvin Adams, 19, led the trooper on a chase through Hinesville, into Allenhurst, and Walthourville where he turned onto Talmadge Road. Adams then turned onto Tibet Road where speeds were recorded in excess of 114 miles per hour.

 The trooper who initiated the chase had to stop due to a blown tire, other troopers involved in the chase along with Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Deputies as well as Long County deputies continued on until Adams lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over into a ditch where Adams and passenger, Dexter Martin, were ejected.  

 Both men were transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville where their conditions are unknown. The driver who has not been charged at press time is facing numerous charges as a result of the chase.
