VIDEO: Hinesville fire displaces family of eight
Loss is significant a week before Christmas

A Hinesville family of eight has been displaced when their home was damaged by fire Friday morning Dec. 17, 2021. 

According to Hinesville Fire Department Public Information Officer, Captain Alex Mason the fire was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. at a residence in the  100 block Cherokee Circle.

Mason said firefighters arrived on scene to find a single family home with heavy fire. Smoke was reported coming from the  front of the residence. It took firefighters several minutes to bring the fire under control.

According to Mason the family had exited the home safely and no injuries were reported.  The Red Cross was notified to provide assistance.

Hinesville Fire Marshals are currently on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
