A 26-year-old Hinesville man was was killed late Thursday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving hit another vehicle.

According to Trooper Trey Miller of the Georgia State Patrol, Edison Diaz Yanez, of Hinesville, was killed when his 2004 Suzuki-1000 struck the back of a 1995 Jeep Cherokee attempting to make a left turn onto Hunters Ridge Lane in Midway. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound at about 5:30 p.m.

Miller said Diaz Yanez was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the driver in the Cherokee was not released.
The accident remains under investigation.
