HINESVILLE, Ga. (Feb. 12, 2021) – The Hinesville Police Department (HPD) actively addresses all illegal drug activity in Hinesville. The latest investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs resulted in multiple arrests and took cocaine and firearms off the streets. 

On Jan. 22, 2021, HPD’s Narcotic and Crime Suppression Units, in conjunction with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and U.S. Postal Service, served search warrants at four separate homes in Hinesville. This action was the result of a two-year investigation following three defendants who conspired in the trafficking of cocaine. 

During the operation, one kilogram of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana, three firearms and other items associated with the manufacturing and sales of crack cocaine were seized.

 Charges associated with the defendants are conspiracy to commit a crime; trafficking cocaine; manufacturing crack cocaine; possession of cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of cocaine; sales of cocaine; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and, possession of tools for the commission of a crime. 

All the defendants are currently incarcerated in the Liberty County Jail, and their bonds have been denied. This is still an ongoing investigation and charges on other co-conspirators are expected. HPD is dedicated to addressing these and any other activities that may jeopardize citizens' safety and overall quality of life.
