Members of the nonprofit organization Wreaths for Warriors Walk presented the city of Hinesville with a ceremonial wreath Wednesday in Victory Park.
On hand to accept the wreath was Hinesville Mayor Jim Thomas, who thanked the organization for its hard work and dedication.
Last Saturday at Cottrell Field, Wreaths for Warriors Walk presented 417 wreaths during a ceremony for families of Fort Stewart’s fallen soldiers.
“I appreciate what you are doing for
the community,” the mayor told WWW member Bruce Muncher. “You don’t know what this means to the families.”
A wreath was also given by WWW to surrounding cities Richmond Hill, Pembroke, Glennville and Savannah.
Hinesville’s wreath will be attached to the “eternal flame” light post in Victory Park on Main Street.
