Hinesville Tree Lighting Ceremony to be virtual only
Christmas star

The holiday season is quickly approaching in Hinesville in a year fraught with confusion, uncertainty and more than its fair share of strife.

For the past two years, the City of Hinesville has held an annual holiday event called Hinesville for the Holidays, featuring photos with Santa Claus, holiday activities, music and the annual tree lighting ceremony – a tradition that goes back much further than 2018.

In light of present COVID-19 restrictions in the state of Georgia, the City has made the difficult decision to revert its annual holiday event back to its original

form – a tree lighting ceremony – and push the event to an online platform.

The livestreamed tree lighting ceremony will be on Thursday, December 3 and will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the City’s Facebook page.

The event will feature several speakers and selections of music. Those members of the public wishing to view the ceremony will be able to watch it at www.facebook.com/ HinesvilleGA.

The tree will be on display

in Bradwell Park in downtown Hinesville until the end of the holiday season.
