From Hinesville Police Department reports:


Theft by taking: A man said his Glock was stolen after he invited over another man he met on the Grinder dating app. The man told police officers he invited the suspect to his home and they soon started talking about handguns. The complainant said he showed the suspect his Glock and let him hold it. The complainant and the suspect stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. When the suspect stepped outside, he took off, jumped into a car and left with the complainant’s loaded gun.

The complainant said the car had Florida tags and looked like newer model Chevy Malibu. The complainant said he didn’t know the suspect’s name and neither party exchanged personal information about each other. He described the suspect being 5-feet, 9-inches tall, weighing between 190 to 200 pounds with short dreadlocks and blond tips. When the complainant attempted to show police officer the suspect’s Grinder profile he saw he had been blocked.


Theft by taking vehicle:

A man reported someone had stolen his 2011 Audi from a home at 1001 Pineland Avenue. The man said he left the car unlocked and running while he went inside the home. He said he was only inside the home for a few minutes. He said the car was gone went he went outside.


Criminal Trespass Damage: 

A woman reported that her home at 114 Parkview Drive had been egged. The woman said she had been home all day. She stepped outside to retrieve a package that was delivered at her doorstep and saw the box had eggshells on top of it. Police officer found eggs on the roof of the house, on the storm door and in her front yard. There was no other visible damage done to the home.


Stalking, Criminal Trespass:

 A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, who has been previously cited for stalking her on several occasions, was in her bedroom. She said she has no idea how he entered her home and that he has been told numerous times he was not allowed at her house.  The woman said that earlier that morning her landlord sent her a text message saying that an A/C repairman was working on her unit when a man walked up to him and said the unit was working properly. The complainant said it was her ex who confronted the repairman. As the woman was giving her report to the officers her cell phone rang and it was her ex calling her. Police spoke with the man and asked how he had entered the home. The man said he knocked on the door and his stepson, 6, let him in. He told the officer he was helping to fix the A/C because it was unplugged. A neighbor confirmed that the man has previously harassed the complainant in prior incidents. Police were going to obtain a warrant on the ex-boyfriend.


Simple Battery: 

A man said he plans to file for a restraining order after a woman came over to his apartment at 135 Roland Street and climbed into his bed. The man told officers he used to have a relationship with the woman a while back. He said he was sleeping and thinks his roommate might have let her in the apartment. When the woman crawled into his bed, the man said he got up and walked outside of the apartment to get away from her. She followed him outside. The complainant said he proceeded to walk back into this place, and she attempted to follow him, but he stopped her. He said the woman ripped off his shirt. He said he told the woman she was not welcomed and that he was going to call police. The woman walked to a waiting car and left.
