HPD investigating Wednesday night shooting

The Hinesville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred late Tuesday night at Tattersall Village Apartments.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the apartment complex after receiving multiple reports of an argument involving several individuals, followed by the sound of several gunshots. Witnesses also reported seeing a vehicle leave the area immediately after the shots were fired.

While officers were responding, they received a separate call regarding an individual who had arrived at a nearby residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital by a family member for treatment.

The injury is believed to be non-life-threatening.

Officers secured the scene at Tattersall Village Apartments, where witnesses were interviewed and detectives recovered multiple shell casings of different calibers, along with other items of evidentiary value. The Criminal Investigations Division responded to process the scene and has assumed the investigation.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, identify those involved, and establish a motive.

At this time, no arrests have been made.
