HPD Partners with Calendar Company to Support the Manna House

HINESVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 10, 2020) – Each year the Hinesville Police Department (HPD) selects a Community Project to work on throughout the fiscal year. In previous years, officers have donated to local non-profits by participating in No Shave November. For 2020, not only will officers be continuing this tradition, HPD is teaming up with Calendar Company to support the Manna House in their work to feed our community. HPD will be selling calendars filled with pictures from its events and programs over the course of the 2019/2020 FY and Calendar Company will work with local businesses to sell ads. Once the ads are sold, calendars will be printed and made available for purchase. Calendar pricing and methods of purchase will be published when available. All proceeds from the project will be donated to the Manna House, with the hope that HPD can make a sizable donation in January 2021. “Community policing and support our community is something that is very near and dear to the heart of HPD,” Hinesville Chief of Police Bill Kirkcndall stated, “Each year, our community projects allow for us to not only help support the community we love and serve, but keep our ties strong to that community – which is one of the driving forces behind our policies and practices here at HPD. Not only should police officers be good stewards of community, public servants should be good stewards of tax dollars – and I’m happy to say that this project comes at no cost to the department.” “I think this is a great idea,” says City Manager Kenneth Howard, “In light of a pandemic and a year filled with strife and torrential change, our staff members have constantly sought ways to keep moving our city forward – and how can we move forward if we leave people behind? 2020 has been the year of HPD stepping up and showing us their flexibility and commitment to this community. I am very excited to see how their 2020 project helps keep this momentum going.” To learn more about purchasing ads or a calendar, please contact the Hinesville Police Department at 912.368.8211.
