The death of a man found Wednesday morning in Wayne County is under investigation, and two people — a juvenile female and a man — have been arrested in Long County in connection with the fatal shooting.

The man, identified as Eddie Pearson II, 35, was found dead in his Chapman Plantation Home around 8:30 a.m. by his cousin, who stopped by to pick him up to go to work, according to Wayne County Sheriff John Carter.

Carter said Pearson, who came from New York, had not lived long in the single-family home.

A man who said he is Pearson's uncle declined to be identified but said his nephew had come from Queens a few months ago and was in the process of sending for his wife and children.

Pearson and his cousin ran a lawn-service business.

The GBI is contributing to the investigation.
