Liberty County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an alleged rape that occurred between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14, in an area just behind Midway Middle School.
According to an incident report, the victim’s father called police saying his daughter told him an unknown male raped her behind the school.
The victim told officers she was talking to a male friend until he decided to go home. When she started to leave, she was approached by two males she did not know.
She stated one of the subjects was wearing a gray hoodie and the other a black shirt and said they were about the same weight and height.
In reported the subjects grabbed her and forced her behind a small building near the parking lot. There, the male wearing the black shirt held her down while the other male raped her.
Immediately afterwards, she said, the two subjects walked toward the basketball courts and got into a black, four-door car and left.
The victim was later taken to Wynn Army Hospital by her mother for medical evaluation.

According to Chief Deputy Keith Moran, it is unclear whether the school is aware the situation occurred within its vicinity since the incident occurred after the school was closed.
The name and age of the victim were not released but Moran did say it appears the victim is not a student of Midway Middle School.
Moran would not elaborate further because the case is under investigation.
“As with any case of this type, we are looking into the details and conducting follow-up interviews with the victim,” he said. “It’s a matter we take seriously and it’s just not prudent to comment on the situation at this time in the investigation.”
