The Kiwanis Club of Liberty County inaugural poker run proved to be a winning hand.

More than 40 boats sailed out of Half Moon Marina on Saturday for the Surf and Turf poker run. The events included raffles of four Atlanta Braves tickets, a half-day charter fishing expedition, a grill, a half-day quail hunt, a marsh hen hunt and more.

The money raised will go toward building inclusive playgrounds for special needs children. The club has targeted Irene B. Thomas Park and Krebs Park for the playground equipment.

Some of the raffle winners donated their winnings back to the club to auction off to raise even more money. The Groove Benders provided entertainment at Eve Park to close out the evening.
