Liberty County Sheriff ’s Office investigators are looking for whoever was responsible for an apparent shooting early Sunday morning that sent four teenagers to the hospital.
The incident took place shortly after 12:30 a.m. at an establishment on the 400 block of Bill Carter Road, according to Liberty County Sheriff ’s Office Maj. Josh Heath. Heath said the teens, whose ages range from 16 to 17, were taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
A vehicle riddled with bullet holes, a shattered passenger window and a missing rear driver’s side tire was discovered in the parking lot of Liberty Regional. Heath was unable to say for sure if the vehicle found was used to transport one of the gunshot victims.
Heath said three of the teens received non-life-threatening wounds, while the fourth is in critical condition. The teen in critical condition received a gunshot to the chest, while the others received wounds to the shoulder and back.
Investigators are in the process of seeking leads on the suspects. Anyone with any information is asked to call the sheriff ’s office at (912) 876-2131.
