The Liberty County School systems has issued the following statement which will be sent to all parents and guardians this evening:

In an effort to keep everyone safe and to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are asking that parents please be diligent about monitoring their child(ren) for symptoms of illness prior to putting them on the bus or bringing them to school. If your child has a cough, muscle aches, sore throat, headache, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or a temperature of 100 degrees or greater, please keep them at home and follow up with their healthcare provider prior to allowing them to return to school. Our data indicates that the majority of current cases in our schools may have been due to contact outside of the school. Parents can help prevent the spread of the virus by encouraging their children to limit their participation in activities outside of school. Please also remind your child(ren) of the importance of wearing masks, washing hands, and watching their distance when at school as well as in the community. Thank you for your continued support as we work to keep our schools open and safe and to stop the spread of COVID-19.
