Despite some rumors, the Liberty County School System is not planning to close its schools for two weeks in response to the epidemic. LCSS IT & Mass Communications Coordinator Cathy Lane stated, “We have NO plans at this time to close our schools. All employees and students will be reporting back to work/school on Wed., Mar. 18, 2020. Our teachers are working on plans for implementing learning activities for our students in the event that we are ever required to close, but NO plans are in place at this time for that to happen.”

Students and faculty are currently on a school break and, as stated above, will not be returning until Mar. 18. During this time, Liberty County schools plan to sanitize things such as desks, bathrooms, etc.
