The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Liberty County Convention & Visitors Bureau, in collaboration with state and local leaders, hosted Fort Stewart-Liberty County Day at the Georgia State Capitol on February 25.

The event was sponsored and hosted by state Representatives Al Williams and Buddy DeLoach and organized by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Liberty County CVB. The purpose of the day was to highlight the strategic importance and economic impact of Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield on coastal Georgia and the state as a whole, while demonstrating Georgia’s pride in the men and women who serve at Fort Stewart.

“Fort Stewart-Liberty County Day at the Capitol provides a meaningful opportunity for state leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the General Assembly to recognize the vital contributions of the 3rd Infantry Division,” said Rep. Williams. “We are proud of Brigadier General John W. Lubas and Deputy Commanding General of Support Kevin D. Bradley, as well as the thousands of soldiers who serve with distinction. There is strong support in the House for our division and tremendous pride in the men and women in uniform.”

Throughout the day, participants engaged with legislators, attended Capitol proceedings, and recognized the service and impact of the 3rd Infantry Division headquartered at Fort Stewart.

“This was an incredible opportunity to witness state government in action while celebrating the extraordinary contributions of our 3rd Infantry Division soldiers,” said Leah Poole, president and CEO of the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce/CVB. “The partnerships between Fort Stewart, Liberty County, and the State of Georgia continue to strengthen our region and our future.”

Fort Stewart-Liberty County Day at the Capitol reinforces the community’s commitment to advocacy, partnership, and continued collaboration with state leadership.
