The Liberty County High School FFA Chapter celebrated National FFA Week from Feb. 18-23, 2024.
FFA Week embraces more than 90 years of FFA traditions while looking forward to the organization’s future. More than 700,000 members participated in National FFA Week activities at local, state and national levels. These members have a passion for agriculture, leadership, and community involvement.
National FFA week is a time for FFA members to raise awareness about the National FFA organization’s role in developing future leaders in agriculture and the importance of agriculture education.
The Liberty County High School FFA celebrated National FFA Week by participating in activities including SAE Day, Community Day of Service, FFA Breakfast, Ag Olympics, and a Red Cross Blood Drive, just to name a few.
The Liberty County High School FFA Chapter currently has 119 members. National FFA Week is sponsored nationally by Tractor Supply Company.
Designated a national week in 1947, the week of George Washington’s birthday, National FFA Week runs from Saturday to Saturday and gives FFA members an opportunity to educate the public about agriculture. During the week, chapters conduct a variety of activities to help others in their school and community learn about FFA and agricultural education.
Through agricultural and hands-on learning, they are preparing for 255 unique career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industry.
The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 945,000 student members who belong to one of 9,163 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The organization is also supported by over 200,000 alumni members throughout the U.S.
