Liberty County School System announces schools closed for rest of year

The Liberty County School System on Wednesday announced schools will remain closed through May 22 in the wake of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp's announcement he was closing schools for the remainder of the year.

Here's the release:

 Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has extended his mandate on Georgia public schools requiriog they remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. The Liberty County School System will follow this mandate and stay closed for all staff and students through May 22, 2020. 

This closure will also include ALL school activities. We will continue to utilize our Digital Learning platforms to deliver instruction. 

Meals will continue to be provided to children under the age of 18 at the sites listed on the Liberty County School System webpage.

Remember that children must be present to receive meals. In an effort to keep stakeholders informed, the school system will send official updates through the following channels:
