Liberty Regional Medical Center (LRMC) has achieved reaccreditation through DNV Healthcare USA Inc., affirming the hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering care to patients across Liberty County and the surrounding region.

The accreditation is based on DNV’s National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) standards and is granted under the deeming authority of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This recognition signifies that LRMC meets or exceeds rigorous federal requirements for patient safety, clinical quality, and operational excellence.

“This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire team who provide exceptional care to the communities we serve,” said Derek Rozier, chief executive officer of LRMC. “We are proud to once again earn this accreditation, which reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in healthcare and continuously improving the patient experience.”

Unlike traditional accreditation models, DNV’s approach incorporates internationally recognized quality management principles, encouraging hospitals to build a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across all departments.

Earning reaccreditation demonstrates LRMC’s commitment not only to meeting national benchmarks, but also to advancing healthcare access and outcomes for patients close to home.

During a recent survey, DNV evaluators recognized the organization’s proactive approach to strengthening safety for patients, staff, and visitors. Notable areas of progress included enhanced internal auditing processes across key programs such as emergency preparedness, antimicrobial stewardship, sepsis management, and life safety systems.

Surveyors also highlighted LRMC’s investment in ongoing training for both leadership and staff, noting a culture that prioritizes preparedness, accountability, and continuous improvement. These efforts align with DNV’s emphasis on risk-based thinking, system integration, and sustained performance improvement.

In addition, executive leadership demonstrated strong engagement throughout the survey process, with members of the leadership team actively rounding with staff, documenting observations, and identifying opportunities to enhance care delivery and facility safety.

While continuous improvement remains a priority, DNV acknowledged measurable progress over the past year, particularly in emergency preparedness, nursing documentation, and overall safety management systems, reflecting a strong foundation for ongoing excellence.
