Liberty Regional Medical Center recently greeted new CEO Tammy Mims, who officially began her tenure with the hospital last month. Mims has an extensive background in healthcare with experience in both administration and clinical services, according to Rene Harwell, LRMC Director of Marketing & Public Relations.

“We are so excited to have Mrs. Mims join Liberty Regional Medical Center,” said James Rogers, Chairman of the Hospital Authority of Liberty County. “She is a very well respected leader who brings a proven record of excellent hospital and fiscal management.  We look forward to Mrs. Mims’ leadership as Liberty Regional continues to grow, recruit physicians and add services to better serve the health needs of the citizens of Liberty County and the surrounding areas.”

Mims comes to Liberty Regional from Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst where she served as CEO for the past three years, according to Harwell.

“She is results oriented and has extensive experience in hospital operations, developing systems of accountability and implementing strategic initiatives,” Harwell said. “The administrative team at Liberty Regional, along with the Hospital Authority of Liberty County, welcomes the many years of solid experience and expertise that Mrs. Mims brings with her and looks forward to working with her as she leads the organization in setting and accomplishing strategic goals and initiatives focused on cost effective quality patient care.”

Mims began her healthcare experience with Memorial Health in Savannah as a registered respiratory therapist.  She has served in numerous leadership capacities including as senior vice president of hospital operations.  Mims earned a Masters of Healthcare Administration and is a Certified Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma.  She has also served as a consultant with various third party administration firms responsible for insurance negotiation settlements, and was chief operating officer with Effingham Health System in Springfield.
