Liberty school kids take poster contest to heart
heart 1
First place: Levi Moore, Frank Long Elementary

The Liberty County School System held a district wide poster contest in February in observance of Heart month.

This contest was sponsored by WomenHeart Hinesville and a monetary gift card was given to the 1st through 3rd place winners.

There were a total 33 posters that made it to final judging on Feb. 27.

“Everyone that participated did an outstanding job and it was a difficult challenge to narrow the winners down to only the top three,” said Sandy Wells WomenHeart Hinesville co-founder.

Judges Sandy Wells and Rene Harwell of Liberty Regional Hospital, Whitney Morris-Reed of city of Hinesville and Kim Halverson, LCSS lead nurse, had the daunting task of selecting the top three winners.

There were also two honorable mentions from each school identified.

All of the winners and honorable mentions will receive free admission to the upcoming WomenHeart Hinesville 5K walk/run scheduled for April 18.

Additionally, the 1st place poster design will be used as the T-shirt logo for the 5K walk/un.

School Nutrition Director Stephanie Fox said she was glad LCSS and WomenHeart Hinesville were able to partner together to bring awareness to the importance of heart health.

The Liberty County School System and WomenHeart Hinesville would like to thank all participants who participated in the poster contest and say great job!
