BREAKING: Heat advisory issued for entire week
A heat advisory for the week has been issued and to help residents stay safe, the City of Hinesville has partnered with Bethel AME Church (233 N. Gause Street) to provide a cooling station. The cooling station will be open from August 17-21 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. each day.

Local church visits Orlando

Baconton Missionary Baptist Church got a chance to experience the Holy Land without having to go overseas.
The church's youth ministry traveled to Orlando, Fla., on June 20-21 to visit the "Holy Land Experience" and "Medieval Times Dinner Theatre."
The parks included living history exhibits and walk-throughs, where spectators are immersed in the culture of the time.
Along with other attractions, the church saw a Crucifixion re-enactment, and a jousting tournament while enjoying a medieval-style feast.
The church's youth minister is Doris Lampkin and Rev. Hermon Scott is the pastor.
