Allenhurst’s leaders were sworn into new terms Thursday at City Attorney Bob Pirkle’s office in Hinesville.

Liberty County Probate Judge Nancy Aspinwall administered the oath to Mayor Thomas Hines and council members James Willis and Carl Easton. Hines said the third member of the city’s council, Amanda Cox, is on medical leave.

Hines is starting his third term as Allenhurst’s mayor, while Easton is starting his fourth term on the council.

Willis is starting his first full term after being appointed last summer following the resignation of Douglas Burgess Jr.

City officials serve four-year terms. There was no election since those sworn in Thursday ran unopposed.
