A Fort Stewart sergeant accused of a double murder was denied bond Monday in Liberty County Superior Court.

Shaquille Deion Craig is charged with murdering Spec. Marquez Brown and Pvt. Malika Jackson on March 5.

The two men were found shot in a Hinesville townhome on Rebecca Street after the Hinesville Police Department received anonymous tips.

Working in cooperation with Fort Stewart’s Criminal Investigation Division, HPD arrested Craig on March 10. HPD detective Jeff Lui said Craig confessed he shot both men to fellow soldiers.

There was a party the night before the shootings attended by Brown, Jackson and Craig.

Lui said Craig showed up to the party because his estranged wife was at the party with Jackson.

Superior Court Judge Paul Rose said there was sufficient probable cause to move the case to the grand jury and later denied bond.
