A 6-year-old child was killed in a vehicle accident Saturday in Long County, and the child’s mother seriously was injured.
The wreck occurred at around 8:15 p.m. on State Route 196 East near Glennville, according to Georgia State Patrol troopers who investigated the accident. Ashmy Reyes Vazquez, 6, died Saturday at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah from injuries sustained in the automobile accident. The child’s mother, Horora Reyes, remains in critical condition at Memorial in Savannah.
The driver of the other vehicle, Jason Levon Rhodes, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and taken into custody.
