Contrary to previous reports, Hinesville residents will see a decrease in their county millage rate.
Rather than increasing, the rate will drop from 11.3 mills in 2011 to 11.18. Liberty County finance officer Kim McGlothlin said Friday the initial proposed rate, 11.75 mills, did not account for 100 percent rollback of duplicated services and was reduced once numbers were adjusted.
The change does not affect the rate levied by the city.
