Early voting begins Monday

Advance voting for the upcoming local election begins Monday and is open to all registered voters. Residents have 21 days to participate in advance voting for the following qualifying municipalities: Hinesville, Walthourville and Riceboro.
Polls are open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Liberty County Elections Center on Memorial Drive in Hinesville. Voters must present a valid driver’s license or other current photo ID.
The general election is Nov. 8, and polls will be open from
7 a.m.-7 p.m. Voting sites are the Shuman Center in Hinesville, the Walthourville Police Department building and the Liberty County Head Start cafeteria in Riceboro.
New district boundaries have been drawn for the city of Hinesville following an evaluation of 2010 Census data. Qualifying candidates were notified and have been campaigning according to the new boundaries.
Streets that may be affected by the redistricting are listed below. Elections Supervisor Ella Golden said more streets likely will be added to the list as early as Monday. Residents who are not sure if these changes affect their respective voting districts should contact the Liberty County Board of Elections and Registration.
