Georgia Cities Week was created by the Georgia Municipal Association as a way for cities to connect with residents and "share information about the valuable services cities provide … and how cities positively impact their quality of life," according to the GMA website.
Hinesville will celebrate the week, which begins today and ends Saturday, with a mix of events for residents and employees.
Here’s the schedule:
Today:Coffee with a Cop, 8 a.m.-noon at McDonald’s, 203 West Oglethorpe Highway
Monday: Employee Art Show opens at Hinesville City Hall, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Tuesday: Event permitting workshop with Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at LCCVB, 208 E. Court St. Requires invite, RSVP or fee.
Wednesday: Sign Cleaning Day, 10 a.m.-noon, throughout Hinesville.
Thursday: Mayor Allen Branch’s State of the City address noon-1 p.m. at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center at the LCCVB’s Progress Through People luncheon. Requires an RSVP or invite.
Farmer’s Market: 4-7 p.m., Bradwell Park.
Hinesville Area Arts Council will host Business After Hours, 5-7 p.m. at its downtown gallery at 102 Commerce St. Requires an RSVP.
Friday: Hinesville Fire Department Car Seat Event, 9 a.m.-noon, Station 1, 103 Liberty St.
Saturday: Keep Liberty Beautiful will host the Great American Cleanup 8:30 a.m.-12:30 a.m. Starts and ends at Bradwell park.
