The 2016-17 Leadership Liberty class toured Fort Stewart on April 11, as part of their leadership development class.
Participants met with the garrison commander, COL Townley R. Hedrick, and received an orientation at the SFC Paul R. Smith Education Center. The class heard about installation procedures, as well as the military community, and toured Warriors Walk. They also dined with soldiers at the Thunder Dining Facility. The class proceeded to the 1-9 FA Static Display and received an orientation at one of the post’s motor pools. Afterward, class members toured the new 3rd ID Museum and heard about the installation history from Camp Stewart to the what it is today.
Leadership Liberty is a nine-month class, in which participants meet at least once a month and learn about various functions of the community, such as county and city government, public health and education, tourism and economic development.
