Liberty Chamber hires new membership coordinator

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce recently named Haley Nickell as its new membership coordinator.

Nickell will be responsible for communicating with current and potential members, as well as facilitating sponsorship and marketing opportunities and membership development.

“We are very excited to welcome Haley to our team, and look forward to working with her to keep our membership engaged and active,” Chamber CEO Leah Poole said.

Nickell was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but moved to Hinesville when she was 7 months old. She graduated from Liberty County High School in 2010 and attended Armstrong Atlantic State University. In 2013, she transferred to Georgia State University. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communication in 2015 with double minors in theater and hospitality administration. Nickell said her passion for event planning led her to minor in hospitality.

“The job of membership coordinator was a great fit for me because of my interest in communications and event planning,” she said. “I look forward to getting to know our members and working with them.”
Nickell enjoys photography, helping her father at his restaurant and spending time with her Yorkie, Bella.

“I can’t wait to meet new people, explore Liberty County and engage more with the community,” she said.

Interstate lane closures, detours set
Traffic shift in effect for 20 days near Savannah Airport

The Georgia Department of Transportation continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout the area. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue through Saturday. Closure schedules may change due to weather or other factors.

Lane closures by county are scheduled as follows:

 

Bryan County

·         From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday I-16 Westbound from US 80/Exit 143 to SR 119/Exit 137 will have single-lane closures for bridge rehabilitation work.

 

Chatham County I-95 Resurfacing

·         There will be continuous double-lane closures and a shift in traffic patterns for 20 days near the Savannah Airport as approach slabs at Pipemakers Bridge are replaced. Lane closures will be in effect between mileposts 103 and 104 Monday, and ramp closures at Exit 102 will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

 

Liberty County

·         From 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through May 12, there will be nightly ramp closures with detours at I-95 exits 76 and 67 to replace existing concrete on ramps.
