Register now for Good Friday Walk for Shelter

The Liberty County Homeless Coalition is preparing for the fifth annual Good Friday Walk for Shelter.
This year’s event is scheduled to take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 25. The 7K run/walk will begin and end at Victory Assembly of God, 612 Gen. Stewart Way, Hinesville, and work its way through downtown.

Sign-in and registration begin at 11 a.m. at the church. A map of the route is available at coastalcourier.com.
Pledges may include monetary donations or nonperishable food items for local food pantries.
Proceeds benefit the coalition’s food and shelter programs.

ASU presents Visiting Writers Series Thursday

Armstrong State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Department of Languages, Literature and Philosophy will present a reading by acclaimed author John Holman, who will read from his latest short story collection, “Triangle Ray.”
Holman is the author of the novel “Luminous Mysteries,” which has been included on the list of “25 Books All Georgians Should Read,” and “Squabble and Other Stories.” He has won the Whiting Writers Award and many other accolades.
This event is free and open to the public. It takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Foxy Loxy Café, 1919 Bull St., Savannah.
