Statesboro police arrested a man they say is responsible for at least eight vehicle break-ins, with more charges pending.
At 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, Officers Jason Borne, Ryan Norton and Louis Parker responded to Copper Beech Townhomes on Statesboro Place Circle in reference to a subject entering autos. The suspect, later identified as Aaron Lee Brusso, 19, of Hinesville, fled when the officers approached him while attempting to make contact, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said.
After a foot chase, Turner said, the officers caught and arrested Brusso.
Brusso was transported to the Statesboro Police Department, and the case was turned over to Detective Tommy Brown.  
Upon further investigation by Brown, Brusso is being charged with eight counts of entering auto and one count each of obstruction of a law-enforcement officer, possession of a knife during commission of a crime, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, concealing identity by wearing a mask and possession of alcohol by consumption (under 21 years of age).
More charges are expected, as several vehicle break-ins and unlawful attempts to enter vehicles are being investigated, Turner said.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
