ATLANTA — State Rep. Jeff Jones, R-Brunswick, recently petitioned the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to expand access to wildlife management areas in Long County.

Jones’ letter to DNR Commissioner Mark Williams, dated Jan. 14, states:

“On behalf of the citizens of Long County, I present to you the attached petition signed by 107 Long County citizens requesting that the Georgia Department of Natural Resources greatly expand the currently very limited access to the DNR managed wildlife management areas in Long County.”

The letter says the citizens “have lost the ready, easy access they once enjoyed due to the highly restrictive access times currently in place.”
