A Long County High School teacher has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a student.
Kayla Camille Berrie, 23, the school’s director of choral activities and assistant band director, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with sexually assaulting a male student, according to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles.
The arrest came after a four month investigation, Nobles said. Berrie is currently out on a $5,000 bond.
Berrie is suspended with pay, according to Long County Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Waters.
