Man sought in homicide in custody
murder still

A person of interest in a Thursday morning homicide in Walthourville was "apprehended without incident," according to Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes.

Liberty County authorities sought Jason A. Glass, 41, in connection with the murder of one woman and aggravated assault of another.

Glass was arrested near the crime scene when Det. Michael Kent noticed an open gate leading into a field. The gate was normally locked, so Kent checked it out and found Glass sitting in a parked vehicle. Kent called for backup and Glass was arrested, according to Sheriff’s Department Detective Capt. Tracy Jennings.

The captain said 911 received a call about a domestic disturbance at about 3 a.m. When deputies arrived at the Bass Street home they found two people, the caller and another woman. One was dead and the other severely injured. Their names were not released.

Jennings said Glass is an ex-spouse of one of the victims.

Anyone with information about the incident  is asked to call the Liberty County Sheriff’s office, 876-4555 or 911, or 368-3911 from outside the county.

“Any help would be appreciated,” Jennings said.
