Hinesville Mayor Jim Thomas and City Administrator Billy Edwards were special guests Sept. 4 at the monthly Goldenheirs meeting at First Baptist Church.

Thomas and Edwards discussed plans for the city and the newest additions to downtown, such as City Hall and the Justice Center.

Plans for Hinesville include the widening of Veterans Parkway, the Bryant Commons development, a possible downtown campus for Armstrong Atlantic State University, possible west-side annexation and an upgrade to the wastewater treatment plant on Fort Stewart.

The next Goldenheirs meeting will be noon Tuesday, Oct. 2, at First Baptist Church’s fellowship hall. Liberty County Administrator Joey Brown and Assistant Administrator Bob Sprinkle will present programs. A covered-dish lunch will be available. All seniors are invited.
