Ribbon-cutting to celebrate new cardiology practice

Liberty Cardiology Associates, a medical practice of Liberty Regional Medical Center, has teamed up with St. Joseph’s/Candler in Savannah to bring cardiology services to Hinesville.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Liberty Cardiology Associates will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the practice, 600 East Oglethorpe Highway.

Now, residents of Hinesville have access locally to the services of a board certified cardiologist, Gary Elkin, MD, who holds regular office hours on Fridays. 

Along with the nurses and technicians, the cardiology team is committed to providing the best care available for the heart, utilizing the latest technology and treatments, according to a press release. The Liberty Regional Medical Center campus offers a wide range of diagnostic and rehab services for any heart condition.

Elkin is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biological Science. He had fellowships at the University of Cincinnati in cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Operated by St. Joseph’s/Candler, the medical team at Liberty Cardiology Associates can provide invasive and other cardiovascular services, including heart catheterizations, stents, pacemakers, defibrillators and ablations at The Heart Hospital at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.
