Riceboro City Councilman David Miller has received a certificate of distinction from the Georgia Municipal Association for completing more than 50 courses offered by GMA in partnership with the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
Miller was among 15 city officials receiving the honor at the recent annual Mayor’s Day Conference. The certificate is awarded by the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute.
To receive the certificate a city official must complete at least 204 credits, including at least 72 hours from a required list and the Robert E. Knox Jr. Municipal Leadership Institute.
“This is an outstanding achievement,” GMA’s Executive Director Lamar Norton said. “We commend Councilmember Miller for this accomplishment and for the dedication he’s shown in using this valuable resource to become a more effective city official.”
The GMA is an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization that provides legislative advocacy, research, training, employee benefit and technical consulting services to 521 member cities.
