Storm brings hail to county

A storm Monday afternoon produced hail in Liberty County.

Emergency Management Agency Director Mike Hodges said that while the storm brought precipitation, officials saw no tornadoes or rotation in any of the fronts.

“There was some hail — pea-size in Hinesville to slightly larger in the Midway and Riceboro areas,” Hodges said.
Three fallen trees were reported, but the EMA director said the trees already had been damaged and likely were going to fall soon anyway.

No severe weather is forecasted to affect the coastal region in the next week.
