Thieves ram ATM with car; alarm scares them off
0920 ATM suspects

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who tried to break into an ATM in Midway early Sunday morning.
According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Detective Brian Barnes, the men stole a Toyota Scion and used it to ram the machine at The Heritage Bank.
The incident was captured on security video and shows the driver of the vehicle ramming the machine several times until it was dislodged. Two men wearing masks then are seen prying the machine open, but an alarm went off and they fled in the stolen vehicle, which was later recovered.
Anyone who knows anything about the incident should call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 876-4555.
