Traffic stops in Ludowici catch two alleged fugitives

Two recent routine traffic stops by the Ludowici Police Department led to the apprehension of two fugitives on the run, police said. A little after midnight Jan. 24, Officer Tyler Manning stopped a vehicle for driving with suspected defective equipment. The driver, Robert Jones, 44, of Odum, was found to have an outstanding warrant from Hawkins County for failing to appear in court on drug charges, Ludowici police Chief Robert Poppell said.
