Winter storm not expected to reach us
weather0209
Accuweather's forecast on www.coastalcourier.com shows rain starting tonight and running into Thursday, but clearing and a warming trend for the weekend.

Storm could bring snow to North Georgia
A winter storm could bring snow and slush to North and Central Georgia tonight, but Coastal Georgia is not expected to freeze.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said winter weather is expected to start late Wednesday and continue into Thursday. The weather that is expected to bring snow to as far south as Swainsboro, will only bring rain into our area, however.
The low tonight will be in the upper 30s. The high today could near 60 and will be in the mid 50s Thursday, when rain will continue. The low Thursday night-Friday will drop into the mid 30s.
Today and tonight, as much of the Midwest is again getting a big winter storm, the upper reaches of Georgia can expect 1 to 2 inches of snow. Areas to the south including Atlanta and Athens will likely see half-an-inch to an inch of snow.
A mixture of rain and snow could fall as far south as Columbus, Macon and Louisville, although little accumulation is expected.
The good news is the weekend here will be sunny and highs could flirt with the 70s.
