Long County will celebrate National Day of Prayer with a ceremony at noon Thursday at the Long County Courthouse.
Local pastors and leaders will join citizens from all over the county in praying for the nation, state and local community. Some who are recognized and prayed for include first responders, law enforcement, teachers, political leaders and the military.
The event is being organized by the Rev. Robert Long.
"We are a country where we still are free to pray to the good Lord. I am inviting everyone and encouraging them to come out with us and pray publicly for our country this Thursday," said Long.
