According to Long County/Ludowici Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Chris Moss, Ludowici/Long County fire units along with the Long County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Forestry, responded to a brush fire at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday off of Beards Bluff Road. Firefighters worked until well after midnight to extinguish the fire. Fire crews were on scene Friday morning monitoring the fire closely. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Moss is appealing to the public not to burn trash or other yard waste outdoors. (Photo courtesy Long County/Ludowici Fire Rescue)
