Blues BBQ 2021

Sept. 15

The Liberty County Chapter 789, is inviting all Community Leaders, Veterans Groups and the general public, to their Annual POW/MIA Observance. This year the Observance will be held at the Connections Church, 116 Patriot Trail, Hinesville. The Observance will begin promptly at 5 p.m. Third Infantry Division CSM Quentin V. Fenderson, will be the Guest Speaker. This year’s Observance will be dedicated in memory of the Chapters Late President SGM (R) Adna “Chad” Chaffee. Chapter president, Dennis P. Fitzgerald, encourages all who care about the Plight of America’s POW’s/MIA’s to attend this Solemn Observance. He further states that there are still 126 missing service members from the 14 Cold War Missions as well as 81,500+ from all other Wars and Conflicts according to The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. It is time for all Americans to fight for a Full Accounting and return (if possible) of ALL of America’s POW’s/MIA’s. According to the newly elected/appointed Chapter members: President – Dennis P. Fitzgerald; Vice President – Paul Spence and Jack Morris as Secretary/Treasurer, this year’s Observance was important to Chad Chaffee and we will try to Honor His Legacy.


Sept. 16

The Logic and Accuracy Testing of voting equipment for the Municipal Election for the City of Flemington on November 2, 2021, is scheduled for Thursday, September 16 at 9:00 a.m. to continue daily until complete. The testing will take place at 100 Main Street, Suite 1600, Hinesville, GA 31313.


Sept. 17

Legendary Phoenix games is hosting a pre-release event for Innistrad Midnight Hunt at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at their location at 108 South Commerce Street (upstairs from the Brickwall Cafe). The fee is $35. RSVP by Sept. 16 by calling 912-332-7097 or email at: spark@legendaryphoenixgames.com


Sept. 18

Blues, Brews and BBQ

– The Hinesville Area Arts Council (HAAC) is hosting the 17th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ in downtown Hinesville on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 from 1pm-9pm.

This year’s sponsors include the The Shanken Team, Liberty County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, JC Lewis Ford, Ng Photography, Jody Smiley Landscaping, Vaden Nissan, State Farm- Adam Herndon, The Heritage Bank and Ameris Bank.

The event will have a BBQ contest as well as BBQ sales and other food vendors, beer garden and lots of live music. This community favorite event is fun and free for the whole family, just cover your food and drink. The BBQ contest is always highly competitive and features a number of local grill masters. Public sales will begin at 1pm and the BBQ competition begins at 4pm.

The entertainment schedule is as follows:

· 1-3pm The Boondockers, · 3-5pm Jon Lee & the Apparitions, · 5-7pm Kyle Yardley Band and · 7-9pm Chuck Courtenay Band. All times are subject to change give or take 10-15 minutes

Sept. 18

Keep Liberty Beautiful events

Recycle it fair and Shred Day from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Walthourville City Hall and Midway Liberty County Community Complex. The Shred Truck will only be located at the Walthourville City Hall. This event is in conjunction with National Cleanup Day and you can pick up clean up supplies at the same two locations listed above during the same time period.
