Liberty Regional Medical Center CEO Derek Rozier joined more than 60 rural hospital leaders from across the state for the Georgia Hospital Association’s (GHA) Rural Hospital Day at the Capitol, advocating for the future and sustainability of rural healthcare in Georgia.
During the event, hospital leaders met with several state representatives and senators to discuss legislative priorities and the unique challenges facing rural healthcare systems. Participants also engaged with leadership from the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) to discuss the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) and other key initiatives impacting rural hospitals and the communities they serve.
“Rural hospitals play a vital role in ensuring patients have access to quality care close to home,” said Rozier, MBA, LNHA, chief executive officer of Liberty Regional Medical Center. “We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with state leaders and healthcare partners to strengthen rural healthcare and support the communities that rely on us.”
Liberty Regional Medical Center extends its appreciation to Georgia’s elected officials and state partners for their continued support and commitment to ensuring rural hospitals remain strong, viable, and equipped to provide high-quality care for patients across the region.
