The Ludowici City Council met briefly Nov. 10 and addressed two issues.
The council voted to upgrade city hall’s phone system and add automated phone service. According to city clerk Tara Manning, the system will be more efficient and will let customers who call city hall leave messages if the worker they are trying to reach is away from their desk or helping another customer. The system will also provide voicemail service.
Windstream Communication will handle the upgrade and,  according to Manning, the cost for the new service will be an additional $1.67 per month.
The council also voted to give city employees Nov. 25-27 off for Thanksgiving and Dec. 23-25 off for Christmas.
