Lyman Hall Elementary receives reading grant

Lyman Hall Elementary has received the 2021 Community Reading Grant. The grant was received in conjunction with Read Across America Day and will have students in the first, second and third grades participating.

“We are so fortunate to have received the Malcolm Mitchell Literacy Grant. Reading is the foundation of learning and it is our goal to enhance literacy skills in every student at Lyman Hall Elementary School,” said school Principal McRae Mangum.

The Month of the Military Child is taking on new meaning throughout the Liberty County School System. The school system and Bradwell Institute celebrated the Month of the Military Child during a ceremony April 1 at Bradwell, with children of soldiers donning purple — the color of the military child — and reflecting on the symbol of the military child, the dandelion. Dandelions are chosen since those plants can thrive wherever they are planted.
